What to do if your child is ill

If your child is unwell please don’t bring them to the nursery, as doing so isn’t fair on your child, our staff, other children, or their parents. In all health matters we follow the guidance provided by Public Health England.

If your child cannot attend due to illness a phone call is always appreciated (and is essential if they have a communicable diseases, so that we may inform other parents).

If your child has diarrhoea or is sick during the day, you’ll be contacted and asked to take them home and keep them there until 48 hours after all symptoms have gone. Staff will administer medication if it is supplied and they are requested to do so. You will be asked to fill in a form with details and granting us consent.

A medical emergency form – detailing what staff can and cannot do in emergency situations – will be supplied to you for signature upon your child being first admitted to the nursery.
